I miss him. it may sound strange to you all.
We’ve been together… since the wednesday before halloween ’09… only now do I realize it’s the 28th of october. but we’d known each other for two years before that.
I’ll see him in three days. but I miss him. I want him here with me right now…

No, really. I’m not. And this realization came to me in the middle of the first month of senior year fall semester. (This year has been extremely helpful in identifying my personality.) And the person who made me realize this was my aunt. Oh family. You gotta love them. Anyway, when she first said this to me, I was shocked. Honestly, genuinely shocked. I don’t think of myself as a mean person. My friends don’t think of me as a mean person, and neither do my internet friends think I’m a mean person, in either text or voice chat. But, that’s the key word. My FRIENDS. Of course they wouldn’t think I was mean, we became friends after all. (But they’re kind of mean themselves.)

I have this thing, you see, which I like to call ‘Initial Dislike’ (which will now be shortened to ID). I hate people. Plain and simple. The smallest minute things about a person can piss me off. The way you dress, your facial hair, what I perceive your personality to be like. Anything. So basically, my ID comes from what judgments I’ve made about you. Seems kind of harsh doesn’t it… Here I am, probably some person you don’t even know, and I’m making judgments about you right off the bat. And they are NOT nice judgments either. But. And this is the big thing. I am CIVIL about my dislike. I am not rude to you. In fact, if I’ve just met you, I will most likely be silent. I’m giving you time to prove yourself to me, prove that you are worth being nice, and to see if our personalities mesh in any way. If I come to the decision that I like you, then I will start smiling more, talking more, and being nice.

I don’t know how this makes me sound. I’ve had people tell me I’m an amazing friend. But getting to that point seems a bit difficult. I don’t wanna scare any of you away. On the internets, I’m generally a nicer person, because things have the potential to be more than misunderstood here, but that ID thing is still going on. I don’t know. It’s hard to describe. I hope it’s kind of understandable. It’s something I’ve wanted to get off my chest for a while, and here it is.
